The Strengthening Our Communities campaign represents a joint effort between the town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and the YMCA to construct a state of the art health and wellness facility in the town. These types of projects necessitate a large amount of public awareness and brand positioning in order to attract the appropriate donors to the project. Through branding, website, photo, video, and marketing collateral, JAC has come alongside this initiative as a sponsor because we truly believe in the value this facility will have in the town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Challenge
The challenge with any project of this type is the sheer scale of the initiative. Not only is this a large undertaking for the Town of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, but donating to the project is also a large ask for potential donors. The brand needs to be positioned properly via marketing materials, photo and video, and website so that residents and potential sponsors can understand the impact that the project will have in the region.
Strategy
We knew that a project of this type would require telling a story. Not just the story of what the YMCA offers, but the need for one of their facilities in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, as well. One of the most powerful storytelling tools we use at JAC is photo and video, so we knew that this would factor heavily into this campaign. We also spent considerable time and effort developing marketing materials that accurately communicate the goals and aspirations of this initiative.
Investing in opportunities we’re passionate about
Over the last several years, JAC has been incredibly fortunate in our opportunity to work with businesses across Labrador. One of the areas we’ve done much of this work is in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, working both with local businesses and the municipality itself.
When the opportunity arose for JAC to work with the town and the YMCA in the marketing of the new fitness and wellness centre, we knew that this would be a great opportunity to give back to a region that has been incredible to work with and that cares deeply about its residents.
