CHALLENGE
For many, Battle Harbour is not a run of the mill vacation destination. For some, it may even be once in a lifetime. Regardless, the location represents a truly unique tourist experience that can’t simply be boiled down to a price tag and a scenic photo. The previous website for Battle Harbour was flush with information, but severely lacking in experience. The character of the island and the experiences waiting there were being lost in the pursuit of merely communicating information.
STRATEGY
Our first step involved sending our photo and video team to the island to capture imagery that meshed with our vision for the website: images that conveyed its character, its mystery, its quality, and its uniqueness. Armed with these images, we began designing and programming a website that doesn’t simply just allow users to walk through a custom inquiry process, but one that also walks them through everything that makes the island special, from the landscape, to the rooms, to the food, to the culture, to the feelings it invokes that no other place can offer.
