Our Client Faced the Dragons, and Got a Deal

Nov 15, 2018

Not every day do you get to make a deal with a Dragon.

We’re delighted to announce that one of our awesome clients, NEXXBAR has faced the Dragons of Dragons’ Den, and come away with a deal! Founder and part owner Ross O’Keefe becomes the first Newfoundlander to make a deal on the show, and is now part of a growing innovation sector in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Desperate and needing a solution for his muscle pain while working as a heavy equipment operator, Ross came up with the idea for NEXXBAR through a belt and a baseball bat. It is designed to give similar rehabilitation and physiotherapeutic relief to muscle pain as a foam roller, but uses the mechanical leverage of your own body in order to apply the perfect amount of pressure to the right places. It is also helpful for those with mobility issues, as it doesn’t need to be used on the floor.

Ross was accompanied by part owner Michael Shelley of Body Works Fitness & Physiotherapy and Canadian Olympic Athlete Ellie Black. Both Manjit Minhas and Jim Treliving made offers, but the team eventually decided to accept Manjit’s offer.

Manjit Minhas is the co-founder and co-owner of Minhas Breweries, Distillery and Wineries — the ninth largest brewery in the world.
