Our moms always said we were special!
John Atkins & Co. has always believed in creating and developing web and marketing solutions for our clients that were world-class, and today we’ve been acknowledged for doing just that. As a small team with big ideas, we have received recognition in the past for our work with such clients as Iceberg Quest and Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador. However, today’s nomination for a Webby Award in the Associations category for downtownstjohns.com has us smiling. And calling our moms.
Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honour” by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet. It is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 650-person judging academy whose members include David Bowie, Internet co-inventor Vinton Cerf, Martha Stewart, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, “Simpson’s” creator Matt Groening, Arianna Huffington, Harvey Weinstein and Virgin Group Chairman Richard Branson. This year’s nominees include such well-known names as Arcade Fire, Foursquare, Justin Bieber and the Old Spice guy. Needless to say, we’re excited to be included amongst these names, as well as so many past Webby Awards participants such as Al Gore, Stephen Colbert and Zach Galifianakis.
As a nominee, JAC is also eligible to win a Webby People’s Voice Award, which is voted online by the global Web community. So, from now until April 29th, you can cast your votes in The Webby People’s Voice Awards. The winners of the Webby Awards will be announced on May. 3rd, and an awards ceremony, featuring the customary five word acceptance speeches, will be held in New York City on June. 13th.
Now, we just have to make sure all our parents know what the Internet is, and how to vote for us. We’re thinking a video tutorial might do the trick.
Who is JAC?
On September 30th, 2008, JAC started with a simple concept – honesty and transparency. A dedicated team took that concept and turned it into an intelligent marketing agency that integrates strategies across all media platforms including web, marketing, advertising, design and print – a first for Newfoundland. This integrated and client-centric approach provides greater efficiency and brand consistency across all mediums.
